Thomas Piketty is director of the école des Hautes études en Sciences Sociales, Paris, and research fellow at CEPREMAP.He has been professor of Economics at M.I.T.
His lecture has described the evolution of income inequalities in the long run, starting from his work on inequalities in the postwar period in France and United States. He will try to answer the following question: what is the influence of technological revolutions and taxation on income inequalities in the long run, and how these are affected by economic policies.
