Productivity, Profits and Pay

Two teams of researchers have worked on two different reports that were presented during the conference:
- First report: “The Executive Compensation Controversy: A Transatlantic Analysis” by Martin Conyon (ESSEC Business School), Nuno Fernandes (IMD International), Miguel A. Ferreira (Universidade Nova de Lisboa), Pedro Matos (University of Southern California) and Kevin Murphy (University of Southern California).
The report has been discussed by Fausto Panunzi (Università Bocconi) and John Van Reenen (Director, Centre for Economic Performance, LSE).
- Second report: “Paying for Performance: Employees’ Participation in Profit and Ownership Schemes“ by Alex Bryson (NIESR and Cep-Lse), Richard Freeman (Harvard and Cep-Lse), Claudio Lucifora (Università Cattolica di Milano), Michele Pellizzari (Università Bocconi and Fondazione RDB) and Virginie Pérotin (Leeds University Business School)
The report has been discussed by Pietro Garibaldi (Collegio Carlo Alberto and Fondazione RDB) and Oriana Bandiera (London School of Economics)
Raffaele Bonanni (General Secretary CISL), Alessandro Profumo (CEO Unicredit) and Gianmario Tondato (CEO Autogrill S.p.A.) participated in the final panel discussion.
During the opening presentation, Tito Boeri (Scientific Director Fondazione RDB and Università Bocconi) presented some new results on performance related pay and fiscal incentives in Italy (these data have been collected by Manageritalia).
