Marianne Bertrand is professor of Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and an internationally renowned economist. In 2004 she received the Elaine Bennett Research Prize (awarded by the American Economic Association to women at the beginning of their career for research in the economic field) and in 2012 the Sherwin Rosen Prize for outstanding contributions in the field of labor economics. Marianne Bertrand’s research interests include labor economics, discrimination and gender gaps, political clientelism, development economics, and family businesses.
