Fondazione RDB, in collaboration with the Institute for Research Evaluation of Public Policies of the Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK-IRVAPP) and the center Baffi-Carefin of Bocconi University, organized a summer school on “Public Policy Evaluation Methods”.
The course explained the rational and the main evaluation strategies using counterfactual analysis. The ultimate goal of the course was to show the cognitive potential of the data held by public authorities and raise awareness on the use of such data in order to identify the actual impact of public policy on the living conditions and the behavior of individuals and organizations involved. The initiative was mainly aimed at managers and government officials who own databases potentially useful for the purposes of such assessment.
Classes were held in Italian by Professors Erich Battistin ((FBK-IRVAPP and Queen Mary University of London), Paolo Pinotti (Fondazione Ing. Rodolfo Debenedetti and Università Bocconi) and Enrico Rettore (FBK-IRVAPP and Università degli Studi di Padova).
